Other Diseases That Look Like Trigger Finger

Trigger finger is the most frequent cause of hand discomfort and disability in adults, but it is not the only possible cause. Other conditions that may have similar symptoms include:
Injury of the flexor tendon: If your palm has been cut and is now stuck in a bent position, it could be because of the wound acting like a lump.
Osteoarthritis: In osteoarthritis, bony outgrowths known as osteophytes can occur. These can cause the same kind of finger locking that nodules do.
Ganglion: A ganglion is an accumulation of fluid in the sheath of a joint due to long-term inflammation, which can lead to the locking of the finger.
Infection: Hand infection is a serious issue and must be addressed quickly. If the flexor sheath is infected, it can lead to intense swelling and a restriction in the motion of the finger. The finger will be hot and very painful when touched. Immediate surgery is necessary to treat the infection.
